Minimum Wage in the Netherlands
The Netherlands' statutory minimum runs about 13.27 euros per hour in 2024 for workers 21 and over, among Europe's highest.
Overview
Dutch law sets the floor monthly but has moved to hourly application to end part-time loopholes, with upratings now twice yearly, in January and July. Youth rates from 15 to 20 scale down toward thirty percent of the adult rate at the youngest ages. Coverage is broad, and collective agreements frequently exceed the floor. At purchasing-power comparisons the Dutch rate consistently ranks at or near the top of the European Union. Figures are approximate 2024 values.
